Bathroom Floor Plan Maker: example made from a fictional home

What is a bathroom floor plan?

A bathroom floor plan is a top-down drawing that shows where the toilet, vanity, shower or tub, door and window go. Fixtures are fixed in place by plumbing, so a small change to the bathroom layout can matter a lot. Planloom draws one from a short description: thick black walls, door swings and windows, each fixture in soft colors with light shadows, the room labeled and the overall dimensions written along two walls.

Use it to compare a tub against a walk-in shower, test a double vanity or see how a half bath fits under a staircase. The first preview is free and watermarked. Change the words and generate again, then turn your favorite into a 10-second 3D video. Planning the room next door? Try the bedroom floor plan page.

The 3D video, beat by beat

0-3s

The furnished plan

The video opens on your furnished bathroom plan seen from straight above, with the shower, vanity and toilet in soft colors.

3-7s

The walls rise

The walls extrude upward from the plan into a 3D model while the camera tilts from the top view to a 45-degree angle. The fixtures stay exactly where the plan put them.

7-10s

A gentle glide

The camera glides across the space with soft ambient music. The layout and furniture stay exactly the same; nothing morphs.

Tips for a better bathroom floor plan

State the size and type

Say 8 ft x 10 ft and full bath, three-quarter bath or half bath. The type decides which fixtures appear.

Choose shower, tub or both

Walk-in shower, alcove tub, freestanding tub or tub-shower combo. Naming one avoids guesses.

Say single or double vanity

Add a linen cabinet, a laundry stack or a make-up counter if you need them, and where the door and window are.

Try a few layouts

Each generation arranges fixtures differently. Compare several for the best path from door to shower.

Who uses a bathroom floor plan

Homeowners use it before a remodel to compare a shower against a tub, and renters use it to plan storage. Contractors and designers use it for a quick concept to show a client, agents use it to mock up an updated listing, and students use it for coursework. It helps you see a bathroom layout in color before you talk to a plumber.

Typical bathroom sizes and clearances

Use these as conservative starting points, and check local building rules.

- Sizes: a half bath can be about 3 ft x 6 ft (0.9 m x 1.8 m), a full bath about 5 ft x 8 ft (1.5 m x 2.4 m) or larger, and a primary bath 8 ft x 10 ft (2.4 m x 3 m) or more. - Toilet: keep at least 15 in (38 cm) from its center to a side wall or fixture, and about 21 in (53 cm) clear in front. - Shower: 32 x 32 in (81 x 81 cm) is a common minimum, and 36 x 36 in (91 x 91 cm) or larger is more comfortable. - Tub: a standard alcove tub is 60 x 30 in (1.5 m x 0.76 m). - Vanity: about 21 in (53 cm) deep and 24 to 72 in (60 to 180 cm) wide, with 30 in (75 cm) or more of standing room in front. - Door swing: keep it from hitting the toilet or vanity, or use a pocket or outswing door in tight rooms.

Accuracy and limits

A bathroom layout depends on pipes and exact fixture sizes that the AI cannot see. The AI invents a plausible layout from your description, so two runs will not match. The result is a visualization, not a construction drawing, and it does not keep exact dimensions or scale. Check every measurement with a professional before you build or buy. Labels come out in English. There is no DXF or CAD export and no editable vector file; you get an image.

Pricing

Every visitor gets one free preview, watermarked, with no sign-in. After that, each image costs 2 credits and arrives without a watermark at 2K resolution. A 10-second 3D video of the result costs 30 credits, and a failed generation refunds its credits automatically.

Starter is $19.99 per month, or $119 per year (about $9.92 per month), and includes 200 credits per month. Pro is $29.99 per month, or $299 per year (about $24.92 per month), and includes 600 credits per month. Both are monthly subscriptions you can cancel anytime, and credits refresh each month. If you would rather not subscribe, one-time credit packs give you 200 credits for $29.99 or 600 credits for $79.99, valid for 365 days. Sign in with email or Google to buy or use credits.

Frequently asked questions

Is the bathroom floor plan free to try?

Yes. Each person gets one free preview, watermarked and with no sign-in. Watermark-free 2K images and the 3D video use credits.

What should I write in the description?

The room size, the bathroom type, the fixtures you want (shower, tub, vanity, toilet), storage and where the door and window are.

Are the sizes and dimensions accurate?

No. The AI draws a plausible layout from your description and writes overall dimensions on the plan, but it is a visualization, not a construction drawing. It does not keep exact dimensions or scale, so check measurements with a professional before you build or buy.

Can it plan a small or half bathroom?

Yes. Give the size, for example a 5 ft x 6 ft half bath, and name the fixtures. The AI fits what it can into that footprint, but check clearances for your real room.

Can I compare a shower against a tub?

Yes. Generate once with a walk-in shower and once with a tub, then compare. Each run is a separate layout. You can then see the winner as a 3D video. For the whole home, try the [apartment floor plan](/apartment-floor-plan) tool.

How much do credits cost?

Starter is $19.99 per month ($119 per year) for 200 credits per month, and Pro is $29.99 per month ($299 per year) for 600 credits per month. One-time packs, no subscription: 200 credits for $29.99 and 600 for $79.99, valid for 365 days. Each image is 2 credits and the 10-second 3D video is 30. Credits from a failed generation are refunded automatically.

Can I export to DXF, CAD or an editable file?

No. You download a PNG or JPG image. There is no DXF or CAD export and no editable vector file. For a plain black-and-white plan without furniture, try the [AI floor plan generator](/ai-floor-plan-generator).

Is my bathroom floor plan private?

Yes. Your descriptions and results stay in your private library and are never added to a public feed.
