What is a bedroom floor plan?
A bedroom floor plan is a top-down drawing of one room that shows where the bed, nightstands, dresser, closet, door and windows sit, and how big the room is. Planloom draws it for you from a few words. Say the size and what goes in the room, and you get a furnished 2D layout: thick black walls, door swings and windows, each piece of furniture in soft colors with light shadows, the room labeled in capitals and the overall dimensions written along two walls.
That makes it a quick way to test a bedroom layout before you move anything heavy, plan a master bedroom floor plan with a closet and bath, or see whether a king bed really fits. The first preview is free and watermarked. Adjust the words and generate again, then lift your favorite into a 10-second 3D video. Planning the whole home? Try the apartment floor plan page.

- 3
Download or make the 3D video
Use credits for a watermark-free 2K image, or turn the plan into a 10-second 3D video. Sign in with email or Google to use credits.
The 3D video, beat by beat
0-3s
The furnished plan
The video opens on your furnished bedroom plan seen from straight above, with the bed, nightstands and closet in soft colors.
3-7s
The walls rise
The walls extrude upward from the plan into a 3D model while the camera tilts from the top view to a 45-degree angle. The bed, dresser and chair stay where you placed them.
7-10s
A gentle glide
The camera glides across the space with soft ambient music. The layout and furniture stay exactly the same; nothing morphs.
Tips for a better bedroom floor plan
Give the room size and the bed
Say 12 ft x 14 ft and queen or king. The bed is the largest piece, so naming it anchors the rest of the layout.
List what else must fit
Nightstands, a dresser, a desk, a chair or a crib. Pieces you do not mention may be left out.
Mention the closet and bath
For a master bedroom floor plan, say walk-in closet, en suite bathroom or a reach-in wardrobe, and where the door and window are.
Try a few layouts
Each generation arranges the same words differently. Generate several and keep the one with the best walkways.
Who uses a bedroom floor plan
Renters and homeowners use it to decide where the bed goes before moving day. Parents use it to fit a crib or bunk beds, builders and agents use it to mock up a primary suite for a listing, and students use it for design coursework. It is a fast way to see a bedroom layout in color, not a replacement for drawn plans.
Typical bedroom sizes and clearances
Use these as conservative starting points, and check local building rules.
- Primary bedroom: about 12 ft x 14 ft (3.7 m x 4.3 m) is common. Secondary bedrooms are often 10 ft x 10 ft to 10 ft x 12 ft (3 m x 3 m to 3 m x 3.7 m). - Bed sizes: twin 38 x 75 in (0.97 x 1.9 m), full 54 x 75 in (1.4 x 1.9 m), queen 60 x 80 in (1.5 x 2.0 m), king 76 x 80 in (1.9 x 2.0 m). - Space beside the bed: leave at least 24 in (60 cm) on each side you use, and 30 to 36 in (75 to 90 cm) for a comfortable walkway. - Dresser and wardrobe: keep about 36 in (90 cm) free in front so drawers and doors can open. - Door swing: keep the arc clear of the bed and furniture. - Layout tips: put the headboard on a solid wall, not under a window, and avoid blocking the path from the door to the closet.
Accuracy and limits
A bedroom layout depends on the exact size of your room and bed, which the AI only reads from your text. The AI invents a plausible layout from your description, so two runs will not match. The result is a visualization, not a construction drawing, and it does not keep exact dimensions or scale. Check every measurement with a professional before you build or buy. Labels come out in English. There is no DXF or CAD export and no editable vector file; you get an image.
Pricing
Every visitor gets one free preview, watermarked, with no sign-in. After that, each image costs 2 credits and arrives without a watermark at 2K resolution. A 10-second 3D video of the result costs 30 credits, and a failed generation refunds its credits automatically.
Starter is $19.99 per month, or $119 per year (about $9.92 per month), and includes 200 credits per month. Pro is $29.99 per month, or $299 per year (about $24.92 per month), and includes 600 credits per month. Both are monthly subscriptions you can cancel anytime, and credits refresh each month. Frequently asked questions
Is the bedroom floor plan free to try?
Yes. Each person gets one free preview, watermarked and with no sign-in. Watermark-free 2K images and the 3D video use credits.
What should I write in the description?
The room size in feet or meters, the bed size, the other furniture you want and where the door and window are. Two or three sentences is enough.
Are the sizes and dimensions accurate?
No. The AI draws a plausible layout from your description and writes overall dimensions on the plan, but it is a visualization, not a construction drawing. It does not keep exact dimensions or scale, so check measurements with a professional before you build or buy.
Can it plan a master bedroom floor plan with a closet and bathroom?
Yes. Describe the suite, for example a primary bedroom with a walk-in closet and an en suite bath, and give a total size. The AI places the rooms and furniture it can fit in that footprint.
Will a king bed fit in my room?
Name the bed and the room size and the plan will show a king in that space with its walkways. It is a visualization, so measure the real room and the bed yourself. For a larger layout with several rooms, try the [apartment floor plan](/apartment-floor-plan) tool.
How much do credits cost?
Starter is $19.99 per month ($119 per year) for 200 credits per month, and Pro is $29.99 per month ($299 per year) for 600 credits per month. One-time packs, no subscription: 200 credits for $29.99 and 600 for $79.99, valid for 365 days. Each image is 2 credits and the 10-second 3D video is 30. Credits from a failed generation are refunded automatically.
Can I export to DXF, CAD or an editable file?
No. You download a PNG or JPG image. There is no DXF or CAD export and no editable vector file. For a plain black-and-white plan without furniture, try the [AI floor plan generator](/ai-floor-plan-generator).
Is my bedroom floor plan private?
Yes. Your descriptions and results stay in your private library and are never added to a public feed.
