How to convert inches to feet
One inch is 0.083333 feet, so 1 in = 0.0833 ft. The formula is:

Two worked examples:

Floor plan tips
Floor plans write rooms as feet and inches, for example 12 ft 6 in, while product specs give one number in inches. Divide by 12 to get feet: 150 in is 12.5 ft, which is 12 ft 6 in.
A 36 in door is exactly 3 ft wide and a 96 in ceiling is exactly 8 ft. Standard US ceilings of 8–9 ft are 96–108 in, and a 30 in counter-depth fridge is 2.5 ft deep.
When you add dimensions along a wall, convert everything to inches first, add, then convert the total back to feet and inches to avoid rounding errors.
