What is house plan AI?
House plan AI is a floor plan generator for whole houses. You describe the house in words: how many bedrooms, how big, what faces the garden. Planloom draws a straight top-down 2D plan of a single-family house on a white background, with thick black walls, door swings, window marks and every room labeled in English capitals. The garage, porch or patio is drawn when it is part of your description.
The plan is your free watermarked preview, with no furniture and no colors. Edit the description and generate again to compare layouts. A 10-second video then raises the plan into a white 3D model: the walls rise from the black lines and the camera orbits at a 45-degree angle. Short on words and prefer a smaller home? The AI floor plan generator works the same way for apartments.

How to make a house plan with AI
- 1
Describe the house
Write the size, the number of floors and bedrooms and the spaces that matter: an open living area, a garage, a patio, a laundry room.
- 2
Generate and compare
The first preview is free, with a watermark and no sign-in. Change the description and generate again to try another layout.
- 3
Download or make the 3D video
Use credits for a watermark-free full resolution image or a 10-second 3D video. Sign in with email or Google to use credits.
The 3D video, beat by beat
0-3s
The flat plan
The video starts on your house plan from straight above, black lines on white.
3-7s
The walls rise
The walls extrude upward into a clean white 3D model as the camera tilts from the top view to 45 degrees.
7-10s
A slow orbit
The camera circles the model with soft ambient music while the layout stays exactly the same.
Tips for a better house plan
State the size and floors
Say one-story or two-story and a rough area such as 150 m2 or 1,600 sq ft. The plan shows the ground floor.
Name outdoor spaces
Mention the garage, porch or patio and where it sits, for example a patio behind the living area.
Describe the flow
Open kitchen and dining, bedrooms grouped on one side, or a hallway from the entry give the AI a clear circulation path.
Try several versions
Each run invents a different layout. Generate a few and keep the one that suits your plot and family.
What a house plan generator is good for
It is useful at the very start of a project: testing whether three bedrooms and a garage fit your idea, preparing a brief for an architect, comparing layouts with a partner or sketching a plan for a story or a game. It gets a labeled layout on screen quickly, so the conversation can start from a picture.
Accuracy and limits
The AI invents a plausible layout from your description, so every run differs. The result is a visualization, not a construction drawing. It does not keep exact dimensions or scale, and it does not check building codes, structure or your plot. Have a professional check measurements before you build or buy. Labels come out in English. There is no DXF or CAD export and no editable vector file; you get an image.
Pricing
Each person gets one free watermarked preview, with no sign-in. After that, every image costs 2 credits and comes without a watermark, as a full resolution PNG or JPG. A 10-second 3D video costs 30 credits. A failed generation refunds its credits automatically.
Starter is $19.99 per month, or $119 per year (about $9.92 per month), with 200 credits per month. Pro is $29.99 per month, or $299 per year (about $24.92 per month), with 600 credits per month. Plans are monthly subscriptions you can cancel anytime, and credits refresh each month. One-time credit packs need no subscription: 200 credits for $29.99 or 600 credits for $79.99, valid for 365 days. Sign in with email or Google to buy or use credits.
Privacy
Your descriptions and results stay in a private library and are never added to a public feed. The sample video on this page was made from a fictional plan.
Frequently asked questions
Is house plan AI free?
You can try it free. Each person gets one watermarked preview with no sign-in. Watermark-free images and the 3D video use credits.
Do I need a drawing to start?
No, only a description. If you have a hand-drawn layout, use [sketch to floor plan](/sketch-to-floor-plan) to clean it up instead.
Does it draw more than one floor?
The plan shows one floor, usually the ground floor. For an upstairs level, describe it as its own house or floor and generate a separate plan.
How much does it cost?
Starter is $19.99 per month ($119 per year) with 200 credits per month, and Pro is $29.99 per month ($299 per year) with 600 credits per month. One-time packs: 200 credits for $29.99, 600 for $79.99, valid 365 days.
How many credits does a plan use?
Two credits per image, without a watermark and at full resolution. The 10-second 3D video costs 30 credits. Credits from a failed generation are refunded automatically.
Can I build from these plans?
No. They are visualizations without exact dimensions or scale, and they are not construction drawings. Work with an architect or builder for anything you will build.
Can I export to DXF or CAD?
No. You download a PNG or JPG. There is no DXF or CAD export and no editable vector file.
Is my work private?
Yes. Your descriptions and results stay in your private library, never in a public feed.
