Floor plan tips
Metric floor plans label walls and rooms in centimeters, so a 360 cm living room wall is 11.81 ft (11 ft 9.7 in) wide and a 400 cm bedroom is 13.12 ft. When you list or compare a home with US buyers, feet are the number they expect.
Interior doors are usually 80–90 cm wide, which is 2.62–2.95 ft (32–36 in is the US range). Ceilings of 240–270 cm are 7.87–8.86 ft, the same range as the common 8 ft and 9 ft ceilings.
Round the result to the nearest inch for drawing: 2.95 ft is 2 ft 11.4 in, and a tape measure cannot show the difference between 11.4 and 11.5 in on site.
